Our hats come in sizes to fit almost anyone, from tiny infants to people
with really big heads.
To pick the right size, we suggest you use one of these
methods:
- Roughing it. Use common household paraphernalia
to measure your head.
- Arts & crafts. For those of you
who can't find some string, but love cutting out paper shapes.
- Traditional. Know your hat size? Use our
handy-dandy conversion chart.
- Guess by age. For grandparents
and other relatives.

Roughing it
Using a flexible tape measure, one made of cloth or plastic, measure
your head. Measure all around your head, going just above the eyebrows
and covering the tops
of the ears. You can also use some string, and then measure the string
with a ruler. (Just make sure the string isn't stretchy!)

Arts & Crafts
Here, we provide a do-it-yourself kit for measuring heads, with our
exclusive, direct-reading size indicators. First, print this page and
cut out these ruler segments. (This page is sized for Mac users. We'll
have a PC version ready soon.)

Tape or glue the parts together, place the resulting ruler strip
around your head as shown in the diagram (above)
and read your hat size from the ruler strip.
(We're crossing our fingers that this works. You might want
to double-check our inches with a ruler! We've gotten these two
sizes of images to work on the Macs, PCs and printers we can find.
Let us know what you
think!)

Guess by age
If you're not within measuring distance of the head you're trying to
fit a hat to, and you can't delegate the measurement task
over the 'phone, try this age guide to our sizes.
Use your judgment in deciding where in these age ranges your kids
are. Bigger kids need bigger hats, and kids' heads get bigger as they grow.
